Office Depot is a global supplier of office products, services and solutions for every workplace – whether your organization resides in an office, a home, a school, or in your car. Providing a robust catalog that complements the company’s eCommerce and in-store business is crucial to providing the level of convenience its customers have come to expect. Design House partnered with Office Depot to create a catalog that serves as a catalyst to help customers work smarter and more efficiently.
The ‘design’ part of Design House really stands out in this project comprising catalog and brochure design, where business products take center stage.
Design House produced several of the company’s catalogs; one of our standout publications was Office Depot’s “The Green Book,” which showcased some of the company’s most popular environmentally preferable products. We began the process by meeting with Office Depot’s marketing analysts and team of copywriters to discuss the direction of the project. Once we determined what the book required, we designed several versions of the cover and institutional pages – the pages that don’t list any products – along with the layout template design to accommodate the product pages. We oversaw photography of their products, worked with the content provided for the cover and institutional pages, and readjusted the layout to make any necessary accommodations for product listings. It was important to adhere to the company’s branding standards throughout the process. After the pages were built out, we rendered the catalog’s cover and prepared for press. We were present at the press site to oversee the printing of the catalog. Green ink smudges weren’t the only ones we had to wipe off our hands while we worked with Office Depot, we got down and dirty with all the process colors as we produced many several other catalogs for the company. Lots of green ink later, the public was able to see Office Depot’s and Design House’s greener side.
